My weight loss appears to be slowing; I'm not going to the bathroom nearly as much, anyway. I went all out biking this morning 30 minutes as 17 miles an hour. Probably pretty respectable for a non biker.

Someone must have neglected to tell me of today is We Love Fruit Day. At least that's what appeared to be going on at the grocery store, where I picked up cantaloupes at less than half of the normal price, what was probably the first full sized watermelon of the season (I live off watermelon during the summer), and a bunch of strawberries, also at a good price.

I repeated my meal of mixed fruit again today, and still felt a bit disconnected until I drank a bunch of water. Later, I sat out and enjoyed the sun, reading a rather good book. Thank you Spring.

I really felt like eating some rice today. I love rice and beans. It occurred to me that what most of my overfed country would considered to be diet food is the height of decadence for me. What have I come to, ha ha.

I'm looking forward to feasting on watermelon tomorrow. mmmm. Watermelon.

Dear Andrew,

Hello. Great blog! I name is Kris . I've been practicing Dr. Graham's 8/1/1 Diet for a few of years now. I've also been a staff massage therapist for him at his fall health and fitness camps for the past three years. I highly recommend the camp experience for a total immersion experience and education in the raw vegan natural hygiene lifestyle.

May I suggest, from my experience, in my opinion, you are miscombining most of your non mono meals, and also, in my opinion, really under eating your leaf salad greens; which perhaps, over the long term, may not be a sustainable diet, especially for an athletic person like yourself.
These two things could explain your spaciness after eating your meals.

Generally, it has been my experience that Doug generally recommends eating a mono fruit breakfast of juicy fruits in season. It's also not recommended to eat melons with other fruits or even watermelon with other melons.

Eating acid foods with sweet fruit is not a generally considered good combination choice.

Doug, again generally, recommends eating sweet fruits with or without lettuce and/or celery for lunch.

Then dinner is usually when the large(1-2 lbs of lettuce) salad with acid fruit and optional overt fats are recommended fare.

I hope these suggestions help you have a good experience and the experience might motivate you to make this diet a lifesyle commitment.

To your health, with love,
Kris

Chris here once again,...
I'm intrigued by your thirst. For me, I'd probably pee twice after each fruit meal and have no desire for a glass of water at all. I think I probably had maybe 15 glasses of water for the whole 6 months, hehe. Which brings me to watermelon.. yes, half a large watermelon was a meal for me and I'd be peeing 3 times after that over the course of about 2 hours. Watermelons totally rock. Those in addition to Ataulfo Mangos in mid April were just amazing and probably made raw 10 times more do-able. I was aiming for 100% organic, but at $15 for an organic watermelon as opposed to $4 or $5 for a regular one, I didn't mind the regular ones.
I also had no idea when to end my trial, but since my birthday was in September, I decided on ending it in August, making a total of 6 months. Funny thing, I felt my BEST on August 31st ;-)
